March Monthly Update

Hey @everyone, 😉

We had a pretty crazy February—sales were higher than expected and we were busy making things rock-solid—so we skipped last month’s update. Here’s what’s been happening in March.

What’s New

Significantly Better Database Reliability

We ran into some database crashes that you may have noticed, so we moved our databases (including game-server ones) off-site. If your database isn’t migrated yet, give us a shout. We're aiming to finish all migrations by January 1, 2026. You should not expect any further crashes regardless of migration status. All customers have been compensated at this time.

Smoother Sale Flow

Buying a server on Meteors is now a breeze. One account does it all, and we're working on adding more sign-in options like Discord, Xbox, and Google.

Pricing

Our data shows that when you compare standard prices (no discounts), we’re 50-80% cheaper than most other providers. Sure, if you add in sales from other places, the picture shifts, but we’ve got our own deals—so keep an eye on our website for promos. We are committed to ensuring we keep a fair marketing strategy, and one that doesn't annoy you. Meteors Hosting will never send you marketing emails.

Security Focus and Changes

We've been hard at work boosting security to keep your servers safe from bots, scanners, and other nasties. This isn’t a one-and-done thing; we're constantly on it. We don't only secure our stuff - we are always working to keep yours secure too. If you have security concerns, please reach us: csirt@meteors.gg

You can also send bot/scanner IP addresses to that email and we'll respond to blocking them as soon as possible.

What’s Coming Up

  • Status Page:
    Soon you'll be able to see if we’re having any issues—either overall or in your region.

  • Subdomain Management:
    No more waiting on us to set up subdomains. By the end of March, you'll be able to create, remove, and manage them directly in your panel.
