How to Split Your Server
At Meteors, one of the benefits of using a pure hardware allocation model is we can allow you to split your server's resources up into new
servers when you need it. This can be especially useful if you just
need to test something, but don't want to shill out extra money for
another server.
It is important to note: Splitting resources takes resources away from your main server. You should always ensure you are leaving enough for your main server to run efficiently.
Splitting your Server
The first thing you'll need to do of course is get to the game panel and select the server you want to split. Once there, use the dots menu and select the "Splitter" option.
You will then be brought to the interface where you will now split your server. First, you should pay close attention to how many resources you actually currently have, and compare that against what your server is currently using. Once you know that, you can click the + button in this interface.
This
will bring up the actual dialogue to create your server split. You can
only split your server into the same game you currently have hosted at
this time.
Once in this dialogue, you need to fill out the
options accordingly for what you want to give this new server. ie: RAM,
CPU amount, disk space, backups, etc.
Once that is done, you can press the "Split Server" button and your new server will start creating. Once the split is done, you will see it in the "Splits" section, though it may still be going through the install process. Once it's finished installing, you can use this server just as you would any other server.
Editing your Split
If
you already have a split setup and you aren't sure how to edit/delete
it, you first need to make your way to the main server you set up.
Once
there, click on the split you created in the "Splitters" interface, and
you will be brought back to the original split dialogue from before.
This time though, you may notice a few extra options.
To
make changes, simply change what you entered previously and press
"Update Server". For some games, it may only take effect after you
restart the server.
You also have a delete option, an option to sync your subusers, and a convenient button to take you to that service.
